A moment to savor the flavors of Kyoto with colorful mame-sushi and more Located in a superb setting on the stone-paved Hanamikoji street, one of the most atmospheric areas even in Kyoto, directly opposite the Gion Kaburenjo Theater, “Mametora” is a traditional restaurant. You can enjoy mame-zara small-plate dishes and bite-sized mame-sushi that let you taste a variety of seasonal delicacies in small portions. While honoring the traditions of Kyoto cuisine, the restaurant offers refined Japanese dishes that are not bound by convention. Seasonal local vegetables include bamboo shoots, pike conger, and matsutake mushrooms, while seafood features sea bream, crab, blowfish, and more, allowing you to fully enjoy the ingredients of each season.
