A place to savor Kansai-style grilled eel and the finest seasonal ingredients at their very best The name “Jisai Kyoman Gion” embodies our wish for guests to “fully enjoy the very best ingredients of the day.” In the warm atmosphere of a traditional Japanese townhouse, we serve the finest dishes of the day. Live eel is prepared in-house and grilled Kansai-style directly over charcoal without steaming, giving it an irresistibly fragrant finish. In addition to the classic unaju (eel over rice in a lacquered box), we generously serve a whole eel per person in dishes such as our signature eel claypot rice. Seasonal local vegetables include bamboo shoots, pike conger, and matsutake mushrooms, while seafood features sea bream, crab, blowfish, and more, allowing you to fully enjoy the tastes of each season.
